Hello Family!!
I love you all so much!!! So it was an interesting week. A lot of things happened, but not all of them are terribly exciting.
Wednesday went finding as a district, in the rain, and we were all completely soaked. We ended up at the lake as if we had gone swimming in it.
So Thursday after lessons and finding, we met Sonia and Anthony at a café to get hot chocolate. I didn't know this, but apparently here hot chocolate and hot cocoa are different. My hot coca was bitter so I added some sugar to it, but it was still bitter. I tasted Anthony’s hot chocolate, it did, in fact, taste a lot better. Then they walked us back to our apartment (they won't let us walk home alone in the dark).
Friday we spent the day in Kombinat after group contacting. During lunch time we watched the grandpas play chess. Later, we ran into Anthony at the bus stop, he walked us to our lesson and waited for us by the bus stop like a concerned older brother. He didn't want us to get on the bus and walk home alone (I will admit it is a little sketchy). He couldn’t come with us so he planned our route for getting home and then talked to us on the phone while we walked. We had to take all the main roads and be totally safe. I carried an entire conversation with him just in Albanian (it's safer to talk in Albanian at night as a female who's American) which was kinda impressive for me. I didn't think I could talk just in Albanian for that long.
Saturday was a crazy day. We had futbol in the morning, and choir practice. Then we had plans to meet Sonia, She wanted to go to a buffet on the top floor of a hotel. It was cool, but they didn't have a lot of food. (I don't think they know what buffet means), We set up for a relief society activity, and we watched the movie 17 miracles. We went to Institute with Sonia but had to leave early to go to the church for a baptism for our elders, Verushi and Guymon. Their new convert is super cool. He comes to the English class that we teach, I like him a lot. President Weidmann came to the baptism too.
Sunday at church Sister Zollinger was supposed to give a talk if someone didn't show up, but she didn't have to, and Anthony had to give a talk. Then since it was the 5th Sunday we had a combined priesthood/relief society lesson, but no one had prepared a lesson so Amy did the lesson and it actually went super well. We went to a lesson with our elders. It was interesting and then at the end the investigator gifted me and Sis Z flowers.
Monday for pday we went to the city of Kruja and the castle of Skenderbau again. It was super fun. It was pretty warm though. Sis Z thought it was more fun this time than last time.
So this week I have been having a pretty hard time. We haven't found any new investigators up to this point. We did have one investigator, but we had to drop her this week. She stopped progressing. It has been quite a trial of our faith. We basically just do finding all the time. I don't know what to do anymore. I have been working so hard and it seems like it hasn't done anything.
I love you all to Gallifrey and back! I also love this country and the people here more than I thought I could. They said that in my blessing when I was set apart that I would be blessed to love the people that I serve. I didn't think that it would happen this fast. I don't want to think about transfers yet, but I hope I don't get transferred!! I still have 3 weeks before the end of my training transfer. I hope I don't train next transfer...ahhhh!!
anyway...I love you all! Godspeed!
